Privacy Policy for Objective Listening

Effective Date: August 1, 2025

When you reach out to Objective Listening or book a session, I’ll collect the basics — your name, email address, and anything you choose to share with me. If you book through my website, Squarespace (my web host) automatically gathers some general, anonymous info about visits, like how many people stopped by and what pages they looked at.

If you share your phone number or email, I’ll only use it to confirm bookings, send reminders, or follow up about your sessions. If you’d rather I not contact you anymore, just let me know by email or text — no special wording needed.

Your Privacy Matters to Me
I’m not a licensed healthcare provider and therefore not bound by HIPAA, but I treat what you share with the same care and respect I’d want for myself. What we talk about stays between us.

Your Choices
At any time, you can ask me to:

  • Show you the information I have about you

  • Update or correct it

  • Delete it entirely

Just email me at alison@objectivelistening.com and I’ll take care of it.

Changes
If I make changes to this policy, I’ll post the updated version here with a new date.

Terms of Agreement for Objective Listening

Effective Date: August 1, 2025

What I Offer
Objective Listening provides professional listening sessions — a space where you can share your thoughts and feelings with someone who will be fully present and free of judgment. This is not therapy, counseling, or medical care. I don’t diagnose, give treatment plans, or offer medical advice.

Confidentiality
What you share in a session stays between us, with just a few exceptions:

  • If I believe you may be in immediate danger of harming yourself or someone else

  • If I’m legally required to report abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult

Session Format
Sessions are available by video, voice, or chat. You choose 30 or 50 minutes when you book.

Payment & Cancellations

  • Payment is due when you book

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice

  • Missed sessions or cancellations made under 24 hours may be non‑refundable

My Role
I’m not a licensed therapist or healthcare provider. My role is to listen with care, reflect back what I hear, and hold space for your experience. If I believe you might benefit from other forms of professional support, I may recommend that you connect with a licensed provider.

By booking a session, you acknowledge that you’ve read and agree to these terms.

Objective Listening exists to provide a safe, confidential space where you can feel heard. If you’re ready to experience that support, you can book a session here.
