Hi, I'm Ali, and I'm so glad you're here.
People tend to open up to me — on trains, in grocery lines, almost anywhere. It's because I ask questions, I pay attention, and I listen in a way that makes people want to keep talking.
After many years in tech, my experience with chronic illness helped me realize I wasn't being fully true to myself. What I wanted was to create spaces where people feel seen and heard. That's why I trained as an End-of-Life Doula at the University of Vermont, completed courses in reflective listening, am a member of the International Listening Association, and now offer Objective Listening — a practice focused on providing non-judgmental, attentive listening without advice or interpretation.
Outside of this work, I think about art and design a lot, take photographs, volunteer with hospice, and dream of returning to New York City.
